The Pond Guy
I have been a Graphic Designer on The Pond Guy’s creative team since February of 2021, and I love getting to know their brands and working on all types of projects. I spend a lot of my time working on social media content and strategy, but I also work on interactive pieces, print projects, and photography.
Above is a quick view of The Pond Guy’s Instagram & Pinterest accounts. I’ve been creating the content, along with our copywriter and social media coordinator since I started. We’ve been experimenting with different types of content and looking at the analytics to see what our customers engage with most. I’ve really enjoyed playing with all sorts of videos, images, graphics, etc., and learning about what captures our demographic’s attention.
The project shown above was one of the larger tasks I managed. Many of our customers complained that the Magflo manuals were confusing, so I teamed up with our copywriter to create a document that was more educational and helpful. We created three versions of the manual since different models in the series contain different parts and features. The full documents for each version on the manuals are included above (within the buttons).
I get to work on a variety of photography projects at TPG. We have a wide array of products, and we often need photos of them for our catalog, website, social media, or other projects. When we have access to the physical product, I’ll take shots in our in-house studio, but sometimes we have to rely on photoshop to create realistic mockups. Some of the images above are photos, and others are digital mockups.
The Jenlis POP flyer was a project that I was very excited to work on. Jenlis is one of our newer brands, so this was the first printed piece that was created for it. Since all I was working off of was a logo and one product package, I got to create a piece that will set the standard for future Jenlis marketing materials.
Every version of this file needed to be proofed by six people on our team and we ended up going through seven or eight versions before it was finalized. The images to the left show the prototype I made at our office that was sent to our contact at our distributor for them to review. We did end up making a few more adjustments after the project was approved, the final version of the file can be viewed below.
I also do some outdoor/location photography. While we need photos of our products, we are always looking for pictures of our pond techs and scenery. We keep a photography archive for marketing materials, our websites, and social media, and we create that content ourselves when we can. The above photos come from a pond clean out with the service team, a winter scenery/aeration shoot, and a Maglfo pump product shoot.
